NEW EcoDesign Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1103 – Effective July 1, 2025

What is EcoDesign?

EcoDesign is the EU’s initiative to improve product energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact—without compromising comfort. The new regulation (EU 2024/1103) applies to all electric space heating systems, including underfloor heating mats and cables, towel rails, and thermostats, whether sold individually or as part of a system.

What’s Changing? 

From July 1, 2025, all local space heating devices must meet stricter energy efficiency and performance standards. This includes :

  • Electric underfloor heating systems 
  • Electric heated towel rails 
  • Thermostats and controls 

These products must now include specific EcoDesign information in their installation manuals and packaging.

Warmup is Ready! 

Warmup is fully prepared to meet these new standards: 

  • Our thermostats have been fully tested and verified that our thermostats meet the required thresholds for low power consumption. 
  • All Warmup electric floor heating systems, heated towel rails, and controls include the required EcoDesign information in their manuals and packaging.
